Student Loans

        Congratulations Graduates!

If you or someone you know is looking for higher education opportunities, we offer a variety of student loans designed to meet your specific needs. We offer Stafford, Partnership, and PLUS Loans.  We're here to help you decide which student loan fits your needs! Stop by any Midstates Bank location and pick-up an application or talk to one of our Personal Bankers today.

Federal Stafford Loan
Federal Stafford or Federal Direct Stafford loans are the most common type of loan.  This loan comes in two varieties:  subsidized and unsubsidized.  T
he Subsidized Stafford Loan is awarded based on financial need. The federal government pays the interest while you are in college.   The Unsubsidized Stafford Loan is not based on financial need. You are responsible for the payment of the interest while you are attending college. You do, however, have the option of paying this interest during the in-school period or adding it to the principal amount of your loan.

Partnership Loan
The Partnership Loan Program is an education funding opportunity that is a partnership between participating schools, students, and the Iowa Student Loan Liquidity Corporation (ISLLC). The Partnership Loan Program was designed to provide low-interest loans to students and families who don't qualify for adequate amounts of state and federal student aid.

The Federal PLUS Loan
Federal PLUS loans or Federal Direct PLUS loans are available to qualifying parents of dependent undergraduate students.
These low-interest, government-issued loans are not based on financial need.  Repayment begins 60 days after the loan is fully disbursed and is usually based on a ten-year repayment schedule. Funding comes from local lending institutions or from the federal government, depending on the college.

Parent Partnership Loan
An alternative to the Federal PLUS loan is the Parent Partnership Loan. This loan offers several benefits and wider repayment options to parents who wish to be the sole borrowers for the remaining cost of education. Parents have the option of choosing either a fixed or variable rate loan.
